bubblezstories: Trying to Escape Your Mind Again.   “You’re stupid!” “You’re never going to get this right!” “You might as well give up right now!” “Nobody likes you!” You’re worthless!” The thoughts get louder and louder in her mind. She is never able to escape them. They are just there, they are part of her. Every day she hears these thoughts. They scream at her trying to make her give up. She tries her very best to ignore the voices, but they get too loud. Telling her she will never live up to what she wants. Her one and only escape is through music, but it’s not always there for her. Luckily this time it was. She quickly ran up the flight of stairs to her bedroom and in one swift motion she slams the door and locks it. The voices are now getting louder. She can’t even hear her own thoughts. She runs to her bed opening up her laptop. She opens the top drawer to her dresser and grabs her headphones and plugs them into her laptop. She finds her music and presses play turning up the volume to drown out the world around her. Suddenly ‘Wake me up’ By Ed Sheeran starts to play. As the first lines are being sung she sings with them, “I should ink my skin with your name and take my passport out again and just replace it” she sings softly, the voices in her head now getting weaker. She continues singing. “ See I could do without a tan on my left hand, where my fourth finger meets my knuckle. And I should run you a hot bath and fill it up with bubbles.” She rests her head on her pillow as her eyes slowly flutter shut. The voices in her head subside to the back of her mind. She slowly drifts off to sleep with Ed’s soft voice being played into her ears. For now the voices are gone, but soon after she wakes they will be back to haunt her even longer. There may be some ways to get away from the monsters in your head, but sadly you can never fully escape your mind.
